A/B testing in sectors with different levels of losses
A distributor from the southern part of the country recently implemented one of our technologies, the Ada System. The strategy was to test it in 2 different sectors of the city, each with about 1,000 connections and 11 km of network.
Results of Sector A: More Unbalanced
Before the use of our technology, Sector A had higher loss rates. The Real Loss was 750,000 liters of water per day and the ILI was 26.0.
After the installation of 40 pressure sensors in this sector, the operational team became familiar with the system in 4 months and monitored the reports and graphs generated. Suspected points were verified and repaired.
At this point in the test, Real Loss decreased to 250,000 L/day and reached an ILI of 10.0.
Another important benefit of the Ada System was the ability to monitor the performance of the water distribution network in real-time. Through an online dashboard, the manager can monitor the consumption, pressure, and hydraulic load of the selected sector in real-time.
These are results that demonstrate how the use of the Ada System allows for a significant reduction in water losses and provides financial savings.
Results of Sector B: More Balanced
Sector B had more balanced performance levels compared to Sector A. Before using the Ada System, Sector B had a Real Loss of approximately 150,000 liters of water per day and an ILI of 4.5. At this point in the test, we were able to reduce 50,000 liters of water per day, reaching an ILI of 3.0.
Overall, the water distributor's loss sector had a 66% reduction in just 4 months! These results indicate that we are on the right track, creating technology to preserve the essential and contributing to the supply of clean drinking water for the entire population.
